  • giving us our needs.
  • healing our disease.
  • fixing our emotional problems.

The Lord has given his love and blessings to us. But this Bible verse tells us that we are required to do something in return:

Bible Verse of the Day – Song of Solomon 3:1-5

IN THE night I dreamed that I sought the one whom I love. [She said] I looked for him but could not find him.  So I decided to go out into the city into the streets and broad ways [which are so confusing to a country girl] and seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him but I could not find him.  The watchmen who go about the city found me to whom I said Have you seen him whom my soul loves?  I had gone but a little way past them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother's house and into the chamber of her who conceived me.  I adjure you O daughters of Jerusalem by the gazelles or by the hinds of the field that you stir not up nor awaken love until it pleases.    [ AMP ]
By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.  `I said', I will rise now, and go about the city; In the streets and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.  The watchmen that go about the city found me; `To whom I said', Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?  It was but a little that I passed from them, When I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, And into the chamber of her that conceived me.  I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes, or by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake `my' love, Until he please.    [ ASV ]
By night on my bed I was looking for him who is the love of my soul: I was looking for him, but I did not see him.  I will get up now and go about the town, in the streets and in the wide ways I will go after him who is the love of my soul: I went after him, but I did not see him.  The watchmen who go about the town came by me; to them I said, Have you seen him who is my heart's desire?  I was but a little way from them, when I came face to face with him who is the love of my soul. I took him by the hands, and did not let him go, till I had taken him into my mother's house, and into the room of her who gave me birth.  I say to you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes of the field, let not love be moved till it is ready.    [ BBE ]
On my bed, in the nights, I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.  I will rise now, and go about the city; In the streets and in the broadways Will I seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.  The watchmen that go about the city found me: -- Have ye seen him whom my soul loveth?  -- Scarcely had I passed from them, When I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, And into the chamber of her that conceived me.  I charge you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles, or by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, till he please.    [ DBY ]
On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not.  I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but found him not.  The watchmen found me as they went about in the city. "Have you seen him whom my soul loves?"  Scarcely had I passed them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me.  I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.    [ ESV ]
By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.  I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.  The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?  It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.  I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.    [ KJV ]
"On my bed night after night I sought him Whom my soul loves; I sought him but did not find him.  'I must arise now and go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.' I sought him but did not find him.  "The watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me And I said 'Have you seen him whom my soul loves?'  "Scarcely had I left them When I found him whom my soul loves; I held on to him and would not let him go Until I had brought him to my mother's house And into the room of her who conceived me."  "I adjure you O daughters of Jerusalem By the gazelles or by the hinds of the field That you will not arouse or awaken my love Until she pleases."    [ NASB ]
All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him.  I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.  The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. "Have you seen the one my heart loves?"  Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves. I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to my mother's house, to the room of the one who conceived me.  Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.    [ NIV ]
By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him but I did not find him.  "I will rise now" I said "And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love." I sought him but I did not find him.  The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said "Have you seen the one I love?"  Scarcely had I passed by them When I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go Until I had brought him to the house of my mother And into the chamber of her who conceived me.  I charge you O daughters of Jerusalem By the gazelles or by the does of the field Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.    [ NKJV ]
By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn't find him.  I will get up now, and go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn't find him.  The watchmen who go about the city found me; "Have you seen him whom my soul loves?"  I had scarcely passed from them, When I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, Into the chamber of her who conceived me.  I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes, or by the hinds of the field, That you not stir up, nor awaken love, Until it so desires.    [ WEB ]
On my couch by night, I sought him whom my soul hath loved; I sought him, and I found him not!  -- Pray, let me rise, and go round the city, In the streets and in the broad places, I seek him whom my soul hath loved! -- I sought him, and I found him not.  The watchmen have found me, (Who are going round about the city), `Him whom my soul have loved saw ye?'  But a little I passed on from them, Till I found him whom my soul hath loved! I seized him, and let him not go, Till I brought him in unto the house of my mother -- And the chamber of her that conceived me.  I have adjured you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes or by the hinds of the field, Stir not up nor wake the love till she please!    [ YLT ]

We will do everything we could when we lose something or someone we love.

We have two lives here in this world. One is physical and the other is Spiritual. Giving too much time to our physical lives, especially in improving our financial status and career, may sacrifice the growth of our relationship with God.
